Yet more pasta, yet more cheese - I am in a rut!
But, I wanted something quick, easy and filling and it was that...
Pasta in Cheese sauce with Asparagus
1/4 pint semi skimmed organic milk
1 teaspoon Marigold vegetable bouillon powder
1 tablespoon cornflour
50g grated half-fat cheddar
85g Schioppi pasta
175g baby asparagus
salt & pepper to taste
Cook the pasta according to package instructions. I steamed the asparagus over the cooking pasta while I made the sauce.
For the sauce, mix together the cold milk and cornflour, Add the Marigold bouillon powder and cook over a low heat until thickened. Add the grated half-fat cheddar and continue to cook until cheese melts. Season to taste with salt & pepper.
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and serve with the asparagus.

I love asparagus and cheese sauce. Hell, I love just about anything in cheese sauce.
Here is what Schioppi pasta looks like before it is cooked:
It is basically just a large tube. It you Google it, it only seems to come up with la Terra E Il Cielo, so maybe it is proprietary.
