Dinner Monday 13 November - Cauldron Foods Crisp Bake and veggies
Well, I had these Crisp Bake thingies I bought in Waitrose on BOGOF and they needed using up before I head off.
So, dinner comprised
1 Cauldron Foods Spinach, Cheese & Sweetcorn Crisp Bake
1 portion leftover Winter Mash
1 portion leftover Mushroom Gravy
10g broccoli rabe, steamed
1 carrot, steamed (about 100g)
"Cleaning out the fridge
Cleaning out the fridge
We will come rejoicing
Cleaning out the fridge..."
Sung to the tune of "Bringing in the Sheaves" - I have always liked that hymn.
Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,
Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve;
Waiting for the harvest, and the time of reaping,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Refrain
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,
Sowing in the sunshine, sowing in the shadows,
Fearing neither clouds nor winter’s chilling breeze;
By and by the harvest, and the labor ended,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Refrain
Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master,
Though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves;
When our weeping’s over, He will bid us welcome,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Refrain
According to Wikipedia:
"The lyrics were written in 1874 by Knowles Shaw, who was inspired by Psalm 126:6, "He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him." "
Anyway, feels sort of appropriate in the lead up to Thanksgiving with all its harvest associations etc.
