I went down to the Brunswick Centre to talk to SpecSavers about my new varifocals. Sheesh, I hate getting older!

I have reasonable vision, but am starting to suffer from the middle age curse of presbyopia. Basically, my arms aren't long enough any more!

I can see things in the middle distance just fine. Reading books, newspapers etc not problem. But my far vision is a bit blurry (read the next street name along for example) and I need help with small print like nutritional info on some packs etc.

So, I got varifocals about a month ago but I cannot seem to get used to them.

Anyway, as Waitrose was right there, it seemed churlish not to have a pop in. I was hoping they would have some more of that Victoria celery, but they did not. I picked up some Livesey Brothers mushrooms (Buna Shemeji and Enoki), some nice Romano/Ramiro peppers, some Chinese leaf (on offer) and also these Cauldron Crisp Bakes, which were BOGOF (Buy One, Get One Free).

Wonder who invented the BOGOF?

Anyway, not the sort of thing I normally buy, but then you know me and "bargains"...
